The Teen Center is a wonderful place for teens to hang out after school, get help with homework and meet new friends. On June 8, 2009 due to the City's budget crisis, Council directed Parks and Recreation staff to close the Teen Center on Laurel Street beginning January 2010. On October 26, 2009 the Packard Foundation awarded the Teen Center a $117,000 grant for its new location in Louden Nelson Community Center. Another $75,000 is needed to operate the center for the next 18 months. Donate now to help the new Teen Center at Louden Nelson Center!
