    Jr. Guard Boosters are parent volunteers who fundraise to support the Santa Cruz Jr. Lifeguard program. Donations provide scholarships, equipment, supplies and competition snacks, and support program events.

    Friends of Parks and Recreation offers scholarships YEAR-ROUND for low-income Santa Cruz city residents.

  • Senior Computer Center

    Since 1990, the Senior Computer Center has provided access to computers and computer training for seniors. From basic computer skills to web page design, book writing and publication, Skype to Facebook, nearly 1000 students have expanded their digital horizons.

  • Teen Center

    With daily activities, foosball, a pool table, video games, computers and access to Laurel Park, the Santa Cruz Teen Center is an ideal location for teens to come and socialize. Donations help us continue to provide excellent activities and services for our Teens.

    Since opening its doors at the original location in December 2001, The Center strives to create a safe environment. We've been at our current location since January 2010 and we continue to provide the services and the mentorship that we have become well known for.

  • Louden Nelson Community Center

    The Community Center, including Laurel Park, is a hub for residents of Santa Cruz and beyond to participate in a variety of classes, events, meetings, local theater, and more. Donations to the Center will help support youth special events, facility improvements and the development of new community programming.

  • Captain Corps

    Captain Corps is a volunteer work experience program for Jr. Guards ages 15–17. Captain Corps volunteers learn ocean lifesaving skills and public safety procedures.

    Donations provide training, equipment, and uniforms for Captain Corps volunteers.

  • Juneteenth

    Community support and donations make this wonderful event possible. Juneteenth is an annual celebration in Laurel Park commemorating the ending of slavery. Join us for a lively day of music, performances, food, and the popular kids sack race—all FREE! The event would not be possible without community support. Help continue this important celebration!

  • Parks

    Provides funding for special amenities not included in the Parks and Recreation budget such as plaques, special lighting for Downtown, park furniture and other misc. or unique projects requested by the community.

  • Other Programs

    FOPAR provides financial assistance to Parks and Recreation programs throughout that year. Your generous donation will help many of our smaller programs continue for children, teens, families, and seniors.

  • Lawn Bowling at San Lorenzo Park

    Santa Cruz Lawn Bowls Club is located in San Lorenzo Park and features a world-class artificial surface. Donations will help fund clubhouse maintenance, facility improvements, and surface replacement.
